In Shenzhen’s dense urban villages, where migrants often drift without roots, "Underneath the Courtyard, beyond the star" offers a vital refuge. Addressing the loss of dreams amidst rapid urbanization, this project transforms a modest 25-square-meter space into an anchor for identity and belonging. Demonstrated through a custom design for a dancer and an astronomer, the home becomes more than shelter—it is a vessel for aspirations. By re-examining the essence of living, this intervention seeks to bridge the gap between individual dreams and the metropolis, fostering integration and rekindling hope in the city’s forgotten corners.
