Unified New Ground

Year: 2017

Location: Havana, Cuba

Area: xxx

Phase: Expanded Practices Studio

Situated in Fanguito along the Almendares River, this project introduces a collective system elevated 12 meters above the existing fabric. Aligning with Havana’s historical grid, the four-story aggregation doubles residential capacity while preserving the urban footprint. Strategic replacement of dilapidated housing yields vital green areas and public amenities. By extending the Metropolitan Park and integrating social gathering spaces, this scalable model addresses Havana’s housing crisis, strengthening community interaction and unifying the fragmented urban tissue.
